The newest signing to LAB Records and CtrlAltRock favourites Cartel have released the deluxe edition of their EP ‘In Stereo’. The EP, which has five new bonus tracks, is available on iTunes in the UK and Europe. The band are over in the UK supporting Forever The Sickest Kids and will be appearing at Slam Dunk Festival, so don’t forget to catch their fantastic live show while they’re here.

Not that there’s any pressure on Cartel or anything, but they do have this rep as one of the Best Freakin’ Bands Of All Time in the pop-rock world. Definitely not the most recognised, nor the most toured, but they have an ability to churn out fantastic tracks, one after the other, on every single release they put out. So it’s enough to leave anyone hesitant to know that the recipe for hopeful success has been changed this time around. With the departure of bassist Jeff Lett, the parting of ways with Wind Up Records and the decision to release ‘In Stereo’ purely in digital form, apprehensiveness is excusable. Read more…
Several new acts have been announced for this year’s Slam Dunk Festival including Hyro Da Hero, Cartel (UK exclusive shows), Not Advised and Bury Tomorrow. Whilst the Kerrang! Introducing stage will feature Blitz Kids, Lower Than Atlantis, Don Broco, Rio, Basement, Summerlin, Lost Boys and The Famous Class. Like last year, the opening slot for the Kerrang! Introducing stage will feature bands chosen by blink-182’s Tom DeLonge (last year’s winners Francesqa are also making a re-appearance).
