So if you have been a fan of My Chemical Romance, it’s been a quiet few years. The band haven’t played a show in the UK since November 2007 and instead have been enjoying time off, working on other projects, starting families and sadly parting ways with their drummer, Bob Bryar. Flash-forward to a couple of weeks ago and in true MCR form, a mysterious webpage on their official site appears. Fans were going crazy trying to work out what it could mean: A transmitter? Songs about horses? White noise? Random sound clips?
Conspiracy theories abound, it wasn’t long before we were treated to teaser trailer on the site, which later turned out to be for their upcoming single ‘Na Na Na’ which was premiered on Zane Lowe earlier his week. Despite front man Gerard Way saying the band were not going with a concept album for their fourth studio release, “Danger Days: True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys” looks like it is exactly that. The video for Na Na Na features cameos from comic book hero Grant Morrison as well as appearances from Steve Righ? and Jimmy from band MSI in a technicolour explosion which is complete contrast to the somber military clad image The Black Parade brought us. The album is out in the UK on 22nd November and you can find a full track listing on http://www.mychemicalromance.com. On Friday, tickets went on sale for three UK dates in promotion of this, which sold out in less than an hour; London HMV Apollo (23rd October), Manchester O2 Apollo (24th October) and Edinburgh Corn Exchange (25th October).
